I don’t cook but I’m trying to find delicious meals that are also healthy but there aren’t many and I hate most vegetables. Should I completely cut pasta and rice out my diet

If you fill in your profile so that people know what type you are it makes it easier for people to answer

Looking back at your 1st ever post, you stated that you were a T1 and I assume the diagnosis hasn't changed.

The basic theory is that you can keep eating whatever you want and simply inject insulin to cover the carb content etc.

I had a lot of issues with this and have found my diabetes much easier to manage with a smaller carb intake of around 150g per day and sometimes much lower.

So whether you cut out carbs is up to you and how your body reacts to them. Keep testing and see what happens when you eat pasta and rice. With pasta in particular, I can find my glucose level starting rise upto 4hrs after eating, so that's something extra to watch out for

I tried to yesterday but I couldn’t find it

Hi,

Click in your personal details in your profile. Scroll down below date of birth & wor not, then you will find a drop down menu bar net to type of diabetes. Then simply choose..

Like @urbanracer , I find a delayed effect with pasta. So timing your dose to compliment the insulin working profile is key.
& of course testing. Untill you get more acustomed with how it works for you.
Rice in small portions I don't find too bad.

All you can do is experiment & see how it goes.

I don’t cook

Is there any reason you can't learn to cook. A quick internet search will allow you to access millions of recipes, along with videos that will guide you every step of the way.

I thought I could not have noodles which was starting to annoy me because I was eating mashed potato (which I don't really like) just to cover insulin. I was on fixed doses of insulin though. The doctors have since changed that but apparently vermicelli noodles are a good option for me. Also basmati rice. But I have to check how they effect me with glucometer. Edit I don't really like either of those options either, but at least it's variety!
