Polyneuropathy CIDP

Is there anyone on here who has CIDP (chronic immuno demyelinating polyneuropathy), but who has not been diagnosed as diabetic?

I have CIDP, my mother was diabetic, my glucose levels run constantly at about 125, and I have a few other symptoms that arguably can be linked to high sugar levels/diabetes.

But I do not have a diabetes diagnosis.

My own feeling is that there is a link here (for me at least).

Anyone else?

Hi @andyjc, From a brief look at the literature people with both CIDP and diabetes exist but the association
between the two is not clear cut. see doi.10.1038/nrneurol.2017/23.
In other words was the person just unlucky to cop both health conditions but independent of each other?
Or did having diabetes or being prone to developing it make the appearance of CIDP more likely.
Given your concern about diabetes and your family history, perhaps your doctor might order some
more definitive testing for you.
Best wishes and I hope that there is some treatment of use to you for the CIDP.
