Hello people, been lying low for a few months because of lots of problems at home, dog with lens luxation and my Dad with thyroid cancer.
Having spent the last 6 months driving in opposite directions to their relevant specialists, I finally got my keyhole knee op done! Hurrah, it has gone like clockwork so far and I went back to work today, just a week later so good news. However, my blood sugar levels have risen since the surgery and the original symptoms all returned virtually overnight.
I have had a headache for days, thirsty, ear irritation back with a vengance and soooo tired all the time. Has anybody else experienced this? The last two mornings my waking readings have been 8.2, normally they would be mid sixes. I know my HBA1C has risen a little in the last 6 months as I had 2 done for pre ops (one op was postponed due to Dad's diagnosis). However they didn't seem to know how to tell me the results at the hospital, yes really, but today my GP accessed them for me so we can see a rising trend.
I suppose the combined effects of the anaesthetic and the imposed lack of exercise for a few days have both caused this rise? I am starting metformin slow release with my tea tonight to see if that has any effect, I can't tolerate the normal stuff, catastrophic!!
