Private messages lost query to administrators

I have been writing to a fellow member who is also T2, we both have sick spouses and lead busy lives and have been swapping stories and offering a sympathetic ear, I have just been to my private messages and both folders are empty, and were only fractionally full when I checked on the weekend. I am deeply concerned that I have lost complete contact, as this was our only method of connection, please can someone on the techie side check this out for me :?:

The private message system is just that - private. No one else has access to those messages. We are not too sure what has happened but messages can only be deleted by the user.
You only need to pm the particular member again to regain contact.

Which folders did you check ? Once someone has read a message they are automatically moved from the outbox to the sent message folder.

In the circumstances we are passing this on to the Administrator for his attention.

For the information of Members - if you have any problem in the first instance contact a Forum Monitor - myself or sugarless sue.
 
Further to the above - we have checked with the Administrator and he too has no answer. We do not have any access to private messages and the use of them is left to the individual members.

So, sorry - we have no answer to what happened.
