I have a provisional licence and am looking to learn to drive. Only recently been diagnosed with type 1, do I need to update my provisional licence at all?

I have tried searching for info online but can only see details for a full driving licence.

Any advice will be appreciated!!

I would make the DVLA aware that you've been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes @louiisehelen

I don't know the answer. But, if I were you & had exhausted the googling for the answer approach, I think I would be ringing the DVLA to see what they say.

I would think you probably do have to tell them - if you have a licence, you have to notify them on diagnosis, if you are diabetic & applying for a provisional licence there's a special box to tick. God love the DVLA, they probably just haven't thought that there will be someone with a provisional who gets diagnosed diabetic before they pass their test.

Try calling them & good luck with the lessons :)
