I am sure I have posted before about this, but this is taking over my life. My feet are so painful, especially at night. It is mostly the balls of my feet, and my big toes. I take great care of my feet, and my diabetes specialist says that they are in good condition. But I have tried everything, I have had isoles made - they did nothing. I have every cream on the market including ibuprofen cream, but nothing works. My blood glucose levels have been getting closer and closer to normal, but the pains have been getting worse. I have been to every pharmacist, and naturopath, but no one has any suggestion.

Does anyone else suffer from painful feet? What do you do to soothe the pain? Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have terrible pain in my feet at night also, which can range from painful toes to severe cramps in my feet, what I tend to do (which does help) is take 2 Gbapentin tabletes about 2 hours before bed, then 2 more + 2 co-codomol tabletes half hour before bed this usually quietens them down enough to sleep.....I hate taking all those tabs and the co-codomol gives me constipation but I would rather have that than all the pain and no sleep.

Hope this helps.

My feet used to wake me up often, burning and itching in the night, but I seemed to have reversed that by lowering carbs, and maybe losing weight as well. Now I rarely feel any discomfort. Hope you find a solution, I know how painful it is.

Nanoo,

Has your consultant not suggested getting a scan/x-ray of your feet to see if it isn't arthritis or another degenerative bone condition?

People pre-judging me.
I have the same problems with my feet. It sounds like Diabetic Neuropathy. I have had it 8 years and it's still painful but it can be managed with an assortment of drugs.. Do not leave it to long to seek professional help. As it just increases the problem. I unfortunately did not know who to ask left it and I now use a wheel chair. It can advance quickly to legs hands and arms if not nipped in the bud. Help yourself and speak to Diabetic nurse or consultant or GP. Do it quickly .
