Hello,
I'm new here so forgive the lack of knowledge right now.

I have a number of reusable Novopens and having looked I've found links for disposable pen recycling via ReMed but nothing relating to reusable pens, so how are people disposing of reusable Novopens?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Scott

Unfortunately, I've been on a pump for around 10 years and haven't used pens properly in years. The only thing I could suggest is asking your GP and/or your hospital clinic what they suggest

I throw them in the bin.
As far as I know, there are no dangerous chemicals added to insulin, and if they're empty there's hardly any insulin left in them anyway.

With respect to chemicals, I'm not entirely sure about two of the pens I have as they have a digital readout on them for the last dose I gave, I feel there must be a battery in them.
I didn't mention the two pens with digital readouts, sorry about that.

Thank you for your replies though. :)

Ah, yes, those have a battery! I misread as disposable pens.
Smash them with a hammer, take the battery out and dispose battery and pen separately, or get rid of the pen with chemical waste?
Or do as I do, put pen in the back of a cupboard and forget about it for the rest of your life.

Try handing it in to your pharmacy for medical waste disposal? My pharmacy takes all my sharps boxes and expired medications and sends them to the proper waste management service which a regular Joe doesn't have access to.

Mountain out of mole hill makers ,queues , crowds , shopping on a Saturday hmm just shopping I guess no matter what day it is
I’ve never really a reason to really throw one away they seem to be quite robust if the battery runs out I carry on using it . when I decide to get a new one the old one goes in the bin
