This is third time lucky for me in this event having missed the previous two with late injuries.
I was lucky enough to get a ballot entry this year and had decided not to fundraise as I have previously, but coming back from a 100 mile round trip to Ditchling this week I got chatting to a bloke who’d noticed my Diabetes UK shirt and told me about his 18 year old daughter who’d recently been diagnosed type 1 and was struggling with coming to terms with what that means for her life. Hearing her story changed my mind.
I was diagnosed with LADA (Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults) last year and am proud to fundraise for Diabetes UK who help and support people with this disease and those trying to find a cure.
