Hi last couple of days my fasting blood sugar has been 6 then 6.6 today have been low carb very rarely over 100 grams of carbs usually a fair bit less I was pre diabetic hba1c was 43 then down to 40 my fasting blood is generally always 5 so a bit worried that it seems to be rising for no apparent reason I've not changed anything or don't feel unwell starting to panic that I will end up diabetic!!

In my experience, testing fasting bg gives a different number every day.
Other things that impact it are how tired your are, lack of sleep, stress levels, diet over the last few days...
This makes fasting blood glucose a pretty inaccurate diagnostic tool for anything.

you could also try testing at different times on the same day, and see how much it varies then, too.
Try immediately on waking, before and after showering, and just before you eat. If you are anything like me, it jumps all over the place!
