I was diagnosed in September last year, I was initially put on Metformin 750mg, this gave me horrendous diarrhoea, I was changed to Actos, I blew up like a balloon and put on 2 stone if 2 months. I was recently changed to Metformin 500mg 3 tablets a day and seemed to be not to bad, this was upped to 4 tablets about 2 weeks ago. At firs the diarrhoea came back but has since subsided a good bit so it is now manageable, but I have every bone in me really sore, slight headaches and occasional nausea, will this subside or is it something that should concern me?

All advice greatly appreciated.

People who are touchy.......feign indignation at the slightest thing. Hypocrites, bullies and cowards.

The Metformin can take time for things to settle down. Sometimes we just have to wait it out for a little while. However, if things concern you you should discuss it with your GP. There is the slow release version of Metformin which is usually better tolerated. This has helped a lot of people get on better with the drug.
