Looking for some info

My partner has just asked me a question which I don't have an answer.

If I had taken my evening insulin (basal bolus) an ate my evening meal.

However if I was sick an it all came up.

Would you need to eat another meal to cover what would have been eaten??

Good question...

I would imagine sugar levels would rise anyway regarding a stomach bug causing the vomiting...?
I yacked up a prawn meal in Spain last year with no real problems with what I had bolused. But did keep an eye on the levels the following day due to lack of apatite....

Hopefully the real science will be along soon.. Cus I normally blagg answers to hypothetical questions like this with my wife....;)

This has been brought up before. ..

Ok I had to do that one. :-D

But seriously. ...

Yes you need to replace most or all of the lost carbs. With something that won't come back up, like lucozade, maybe dry bread, depending on how you feel and the cause of the vomiting

Check more regular during the time of qa working and as spiker said replace with lucozade our something dry if levels are dropping. After that, still test regular as sickness can cause highs/lows, and have plenty water.

Type 1, pumping nova rapid

Had this happen before, as said lucozade is a good meal replacement in circumstances like the one you described.
