Statins & GORD

Hi,

I have suffered with GORD (gastro-oesophageal reflux disease) for many years and need to take Omeprazole on a need only basis when I get an attack.
Last year I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. At my annual review my Cholesterol went up, despite my attempts to bring it down with diet, and my GP prescribed Simvastatin.
Unfortunately this triggered my GORD. My GP has tried other statins all to no avail.

So my question is, has anyone else had a similar problem please ?

Best regards,
Roger

Type of diabetes
Type 2
Treatment type
Non-insulin injectable medication (incretin mimetics)
I take 2 Esomeprazole daily for GORD and take atorvastin for my cholesterol. Cholesterol is very good now and I've no problems with either tablet.

I take 2 lanzoprasol daily for GORD.
I could not tolerate simvistatin for other reasons and was changed to atorvistatin which has not caused me any problems.
