I've been taking one statin daily for around 4 years now,I have gradualy been getting very painful joints and I seem to ache all over especialy my right ankle if I stand long periods,I read an article in last weeks Mail by a Doctor with simalar symptoms and he related his problem to taking one statin a day-he stopped taking it and after a few weeks the aching joints are now better,my cholesterol is 3.2 and my diet much better than it was so I am going to stop taking the statin, anyone else relate painful joints to taking statins?

Hi Dave,

A fair number of people on the forum have reported pain as a result of taking statins. Pain that appears to subside when the statins are stopped. I don't take them myself and have no intention to.
It sounds to me as if your cholesterol is too low! In your shoes, I'd definitely be giving the statins a miss.

All the best,

fergus

I have a colleague at work - in good health - but his doctor is concerned because his cholesterol is too low at 3.5.
