I was diagnosed with diabetes 2 years ago and was moved to Fiasp about 6 months ago. Over the past two days my glucose levels have stayed high and I can’t get them down with insulin. I will call doctor in the morning, but is this common? This morning they came down but the are 28 at the minute and I have just had a second dose of 10 units. Prior to this I was very sensitive to insulin and rarely needed more than 6 units before a meal.

Hi @GerFran1980 Welcome to the Forum.
It may be that your immune system is working overtime fending off whatever lurgy might be around. This can have exactly that effect without you having any symptoms. I'm sure you are keeping an eye out for sudden drops in blood glucose. Working in a school used to cause me this problem on a regular basis. Let us know how you get on!

Hi @GerFran1980 , welcome to the forum.

Like @Grant_Vicat said, it could be you have some virus brewing messing with your blood glucose.

On the other hand, you're only two years in, and your insulin needs may change as the amount of insulin your body produces may still be changing. Are you only adjusting your bolus insulin (Fiasp) or are you looking at your basal (long acting) insulin as well?

With numbers this high I'd want to check for ketones to make sure you're not going into ketoacidosis. Doo you have pee sticks or a meter with blood sticks to test for ketones?
If not, please seek urgent medical help should you develop nausea, a stomach ache, funny breathing, or someone mentioning your breath smells odd.
If in doubt, please call 111 for advice.
