Hi You're type ! aren't you? Did you not have any symptoms?

My symptoms were:-

Unexplained weight loss ( from 8 1/2 stone to just over 7 stone)
Uncontrollable thirst ( high sugar levels)
Lethargic ( extremely tired and not feeling quite right) then nearer diagnosis, feeling at deaths door
Itchiness in the lower regions ! ( high sugar levels)
Feeling emotional and a bit on edge.

These were the main ones I experienced. Hope it was helpful.

For me, looking back, was weight loss, a thirst I would kill to quench, constantly full bladder and the inability to heal...........

I was 15, so had the odd scrape here and there, they would hang around for a long time........

I can now also urinate approximately 2 litres in one go, don't ask how it was measured, but its true..........down to the months before diagnosis I would imagine.........:)

I've been type 1 for 9 years now.

My symptoms were:

Excessive thirst ( drinking water from taps for 15 mins at a time)

Unexplained weight loss ( 7 stone to just under 4)

Lethargic (no energy and was constantly tired - barely ate because loss of appetite)

Constant urinating ( due to drinking so much fluid)

Had thrush in the genital areas which came with itching as well.

Most or nearly all of my first symptoms are listed here :)

Weigh loss, incredible thirst where I could drink from a tap, frequent trips to the loo, generally feeling not well.

I was diagnosed when I was 8. Well my 8th birthday so call it 7..

Drastic weight loss, flu like symptoms without the snottiness, the constant need to drink fluid, the constant need to pee, loss of apatite, fuzzy blurred eyesight.
Funny enough leading up to this I did get an infection on my thumb from playing in the garden that took a while to heal. I also gashed my shoulder on a jutting out gate latch that continued to look like a fresh scar too...

Never had the thrush or the "southern itch" though....
