I had another blood test today as I was admitted to A + E last week with asthma when they did blood tests they found i had high blood glucose and low phosphorous I have to wait until Thursday for the result and I'm scared. Don't think it helps that I'm on my own at home this week and not supposed to be going out I have been told to rest so can't take my mind off things. Guess I'm feeling low and ther isn't anything I can do but wait. Is there any advice anyone can give to get me through? Thanks.

Hi Tinkan,

It is very worrying not knowing your diagnosis will be, and plenty of people have had that sort of experience. All that we can say is once you've got some idea there will always be someone here with good experience to share. I think you've said it yourself - there's probably not much you can do but wait. I would probably try to keep away from very sugary things for the next couple of days, and perhaps try to reduce the amount of carbohydrate you eat but really try not to stress about it too much. If you have got diabetes, then a couple of more days is unlikely to make a real difference.

Once you've got a firmer diagnosis, you will hopefully then be able to discuss options with some medical professionals. Until then, have a look around the site, and here is the basic advice for newly diagnosed members:
