The Sugar Conspiracy - A fascinating article on why everything is Low Fat

Also re Yudkin, the UK wasn't the US and this article repeats the selective info given by Gary Taubes and repeated by Teicholz .
The Medical research council commissioned researchers including Sir Richard Doll to replicate Yudkin's research. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC487524/?page=1
see also http://qjmed.oxfordjournals.org/content/102/2/81
The replicated research failed to confirm Yudkins findings

and from Geoffrey Cannon, who had a recent input into the recent Brazilian guidelines (which most people seem to approve of), there is the story of the introduction of dietary guidelines in Britain against opposition from government and 'big food' This is a different perspective to the one from a US point of view.

Didn't have time yesterday but was rereading the links so slightly edited, edits in italics.
this quote from 2nd of Cannon's pieces shows the irony of comparing the US with the UK
From 1981 :What if I were to tell you' I said (ie Cannon said) 'that a report originally commissioned by government has concluded that the food we typically eat in Britain is a major cause of killer diseases, starting with heart disease, and that this report is being suppressed by government because of its implications for the food industry?'

“We must… build our own local food systems that create new rural-urban links, based on truly agroecological food production… We cannot allow Agroecology to be a tool of the industrial food production model: we see it as the essential alternative to that model, and as the means of transforming how we produce and consume food into something better for humanity and our Mother Earth…MORE HERE >>>>> http://www.globalresearch.ca/capita...ord-to-monsanto-its-for-your-own-good/5519546

I couldn't find any mention of sugar or low fat (the subject of this thread).

If you want an answer to questions in this thread why not look at the British Medical Journal. They don't mince words when they say there is NO good evidence behind the dietary fat guidelines doctors have been pushing for the last 40 years.
References at my blog http://t1diabetesafter55.blogspot.com.au
And how is it that someone like me with a huge intake of saturated fat for decades, a family history of vascular disease, steroid use, no statins and no ezetrol can run a sub 1:35 half marathon at the age of 55? Without a Royal Commission you will not find out how dishonest medical researchers are.
If you want to take advice from researchers who use defamation actions to limit criticism of their work, don't blame me for your poor outcomes.
