Thunderbirds Are Go | Trailer

I used to love this, looking forward to watching the updated version!
A new trailer was released today, and on Youtube it says:

"Published on 13 Mar 2015
The global YouTube reveal of the Thunderbirds Are Go trailer, 24 hours before it's aired on ITV and CITV."

but I can't see any listings for it tomorrow?

I think it may be on CBBC or CITV childrens channel. What have they done? I used to love the way the puppets moved, it's all cgi now. There's nothing in next week Radio Times about it and if it was due to start I'm sure they'd do an article on it.

It says on the trailer that it's on ITV and CITV
 
I think they're talking about the trailer (not the programme itself) being released on Youtube 24 hours before being shown on TV. Wikipedia says that the show will be screened in Spring 2015, so it must be coming soon.

At the risk of sounding like an old f*rt, it won't be the same as the original. For starters, you won't see a puppet looking at its wrist watch, followed by a close up shot of a watch on a real person's wrist.

And after 50 years I would hope it's not the same, I think technology has advanced a bit since then
Would love to see a re-run of the original though

They re-ran them about 20 years ago - the son of a friend of ours, who was then about 10, absolutely loved the programmes, and models of Tracey Island were that Christmas' hard-to-get gift that every kid wanted (no prizes for guessing how I know that ).

There's something about cgi re-renderings of old classics that makes them a bit bland to me, although I am prepared to make an exception for the recent "Paddington" film, which was brilliant.

I seem to recall an interview with Gerry Anderson, when he talked about filming a scene involving a "giant" crocodile. They put a real croc in a large tank, festooned with swamp-like scenery, puppets, a handler and a couple of production people, and started filming. There was the inevitable break in filming, with people rushing around to fix some kind of technical glitch, and people's attention got distracted, as it does in such circumstances. Then one of the people in the tank nervously asked "Erm; has anyone seen the croc"?
 
Plus in addition also, this discussion reminds me of Pete 'n Dud

 
Looks really great but a little too high-tech, part of the appeal of the old series was the shaky sets
 
I used to love watching this too., but not seen anything in the TV guide about it but think the advert says it's gonna be on citv at some point., would like to record it if possible
 
Will be interesting to see the viewing figures. Won't be as many as the return of Doctor Who 10 years ago but I bet it won't be far off
 
Well sorry, but that was just not worth the wait. For me, there were too many rescues squashed into a short time not like the original Thunderbirds when you saw more of how they did the rescue. For example in this episode a quick blast of a laser gun detached the dish from it's moorings where as in the old episodes that would have been a long complicated mission.
Sorry, but just did nothing for me and I won't be rushing back from town to catch the next episode.

As for the ratings.....................probably will be high this time because it's new but will be interesting to see next weeks.
 
It's very slick and will probably suit todays youngsters, but my biggest gripe is lady penelope, just awful, nothing like the wonderful original!
 
It's going to be on 8am Saturday morning, so definitely not aimed at adults! Don't think I'll bother any more either
Now what we really need back is the Banana Splits

I thought the very same thing. The original was really sexy but this one just didn't have that appeal for me. Not only that, the car!! What the hell was that?? The original was a Rolls...............iconic beauty, the new one was just an animated something with bits sticking out. Just no class whatsoever.
Rant over, probably won't watch another.

Lady Penelope & the car were a big disappointment. Oil out of the rear of the car - wonder where that idea came from? And they had to introduce a female agent just to keep the pc brigade happy. As rowan says prob appeal to youngsters but not for me.
