Hi All,

Quick and easy question (hopefully). Any recommendations for travel insurance companies that specialise for diabetics?.

I'm obviously google searching but would like some first hand experience from everyone.

Many thanks for your help.

I've found the specialist companies expensive. I have an annual policy with Insure and Go at a reasonable rate and includes winter sports. It's a while ago that I got it but I remember them being very helpful.

Medici Travel cover loads of pre existing illnesses, I've so many but so far I've always managed to get my annual policy at a reasonable cost. Not sure what will happen if I developed any other illnesses in the future but I will try each year.

If you bank with nationwide they offer FREE travel insurance, and as long as you are only on insulin using a pump,or injection they cover you for free. They will charge more if you take additional medication to control you BG's. It's well worth considering when you look at the cost of insurance.
