Type 1 and Verrucas!

The medical experts consider verrucas as a minor problem best left to dissapear by themselves.

The chemicals used for treatment are regarded as not suitable for diabetics, but I don't know why.

You have certainly seen all the experts and if they are stumped it's unlikely that us amateurs will have any answers.

I know they are a pain in the foot! I had some for years, they were finally removed surgically and it hurt a lot when the local wore off. They have never come back.

There are some suggestions that duct ( Duck) tape can work, do a Google.

Based on my experience, two years of various scrappings, potions, and even freezing failed to get rid of them, so maybe you can discuss surgery with your doc?

There are some home remedies which may help.

You can use a small piece of the inside of banana skin (plaster on, keep dry, replace every couple of days). I've no experience of this but chiropodist mentioned it. I have however used marigold on my daughter. This was very gentle and didn't adversely affect the healthy tissue around it. It was in a small white bottle and was a sort of mashed up lumpy green paste. I was amazed how quickly (and painlessly) this got rid of a persistent verruca on my little girl. She's not diabetic though (I am). Not sure if it would be suitable but might be worth a try as it wasn't as agressive as the freezing method. We bought it from a local chiropodist but it may be available on the internet. I think you can also buy it as an oil
