Type 1 Weight loss - MFP ?

Hi all,
I am desperate tp lose weight ( about 6 stone ) and am wondering the best way to do it ?
I have heard of My Fitness Pal which I understand you input all your food into and it calculates fat/cals/carbs etc but I am also wondering if I should low carb which I have been doing on and off for a while now but with no results.
Id appriciate it if someone could help or give advice. Thank you x
 
Never used MFP but I'll bump your post up the forum in the hope you get some replies Nicola.
