I am 38 and recently diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and are hearing all kinds of stories and only ask this question because since being diagnosed I have put on a couple of stone in weight.
Q: Is it true that all people suffering with Type 1 and taking insulin are overweight or is it possible to stay perfectly slim.
I very much doubt that we're all overweight, if only because there'll always be outliers. Having said that, it's not uncommon to gain some weight after diagnosis but that's just what you "should" have gained but couldn't due to the insulin deficit (however, if you had been eating too much before diagnosis then this would now result in weight gain)
