Yesterday’s food:
Breakfast: usual slice HiLo toast, butter, tea.
Lunch: cheese, tiny home grown cherry toms, cucumber, coleslaw.
Supper: cauli rice with red pepper and salmon.
@Peadair O Brionn good to see you and hear how you’re doing, and its really great!
@DJC3 didnt know about all the socialising challenges for little Dennis. If only I had stayed in Cornwall a bit longer I could have jogged, cycled, and dressed up. Lol.
@shelley262 hope your knee is improving.

Oh how I wish you had - that would have been hilarious! I’ve found a motorbike helmet in a wardrobe so will be wearing that a lot today - hope nobody comes to the door in that time. Made the postman wheel his trolley past us a few times today lol.
Home grown cherry toms!! How wonderful - we haven’t put any in this year but never had them this early I don’t think.

Insulin
Went to bed hungry last night and am pretty sure I went very low during the night, but I just went back to sleep - back up to 9.2 by the time I got up at 0700.
Breakfast today was a bit of a mushroom frittata that I had in the freezer. It didn't freeze well and I only had a bit of it and threw the rest away.

I've got all sorts of meaty things sitting defrosting in the fridge so I'll have a choice for lunch and dinner (meatballs, home made sausage, cold pork, fish - some liver pate which a I made a while ago - a bit strong in flavour so I never got back to it - and some chicken livers which I never made into a pate. My son's dogs will enjoy that). Still have some veggies to defrost and even some fresh veg from the last shopping day, so I'll come up with something.

A big part of my problem is that I am a cook and a baker and am always being asked by my church group to make things - at least one iced cake a week and frequently a vegan dish. Meat dishes are not so popular. I have to check the taste of things, but it is a struggle not to eat them - especially the rice/potato/couscous element.

People who think they know everything.
I am so jealous about home grown tomatoes so early - all mine are in flower but not fruiting yet. On the plus side the strawberries and courgettes have started and taste amazing. I think we have planted probably about three times the amount of chard we can actually eat.

Another boring morning spent mainly reading ancient copies of Hello magazine in the doctor's waiting room. The doctor failed to show up (no excuse/reason/apology offered) and we had to wait for ages for another doctor to see Mr C. The 10am appointment turned in to an 11.45 one and then lasted over half an hour!!. Then a bit of soothing garden centre shopping and a Costa coffee.

Breakfast: usual bacon and eggs

Lunch: some cold chipolatas

Dinner: (Mr C cooking) grilled marinated lamb rump steaks and aubergine sluces with a Greek salad and lettuce from the garden.

Drinks: black decaff coffee, Costa black decaff coffee, water and definitely some therapeutic red wine

Eaten today

Some dark chocolate and black coffee

Three boiled eggs, some corned beef, slivers of cheese and cwc

Cwc

Frozen berries with double cream on

Small tiny bag of pork scratchings but didn't enjoy them today...

One boiled egg, some chicken, slivers of cheese

(I am trying to cut down on the cheese. I eat too much I think, so instead of cutting a lump, I am cutting thin slivers off with a sharp knife. And I am buying a mature cheese so it has more taste in a small quantity)

On to numerous cups tea now.

Also three bottles water, one with pinch salt in, one with lemon juice, one with a little tonic water in.

@Chook your lamb dinner is right up my street.
Todays food:
Breakfast: 1 slice HiLo toast, butter, tea.
Lunch: 3 scrambled eggs which needed using and were surprisingly filling.
Supper: Salmon fillets, roasted med veg and new pots for those who can. No idea when it will be as eldest son joining us but left his phone in an Uber last night. It is our last weekend together for a while as he starts a new job (same coy) in Dublin in July courtesy of Brexit. Its a good promotion for him though as an Arsenal season ticket holder he is wondering how many matches he will get to next season. Truth is I will miss him terribly.

Hello, the wanderer returns!

Been off the forum for months and months due to a (still healing) arm injury. Not been able to type and should really be taking it steady now, but missing you guys. Hope everyone is OK, will try to post when able. I am managing to read the posts due to a pathetic scrolling action with my other arm but can't bear to type replies with one finger.

Breakfast: Home made granola, two slices hi lo toast and butter
Lunch: Turkey, ham, olives, cucumber, tomato, cheese cube, cheese muffin. Cherries, double cream and homemade choc granola.
Tea: Steak, roasted veg, peas. Two squares 90% Lindt
Supper: More granola!

Good to be back :)

That day when you curse at the TV for the awful choices of England's batsmen - having made some awful food and drink choices:arghh: Tea for B (and Georgie Best) then saw the foot tickler general (DN) had more tea then went to market. Used birthday money to buy some cheeses and 2 kinds of upmarket olive oil. Poor choice no 1 was coffee - ok it was free but I'm better than that. NE1 was buttered flaxseed crackers and tongue ( large free piece from end of piece at deli counter) with cherry vine toms from market ( very functional indeed) and some raclette. Julie cooked 2 chickens for tomorrow (reduced at free coffee supermarket) covered with bacon - I ate some bacon - bad choice no 2. NE2 fluffy omelette - last of asparagus, mushrooms and cheese with salad (leaves, peashoots and edible flowers) and h/m mayo. @Tori71 hope the arm heals asap but good to see you.

Lovely to see you back @Tori71 I hope your arm heals soon. I only type with 1 finger and I have no excuse.
@PenguinMum hugs for your last weekend with your son. We all want the best for our children but it’s still painful to see them off.
@Chook your story about Mr C’s appt is awful, no excuse for lack of explanation/ apology. Your dinner sounds wonderful though.
Today I’ve had CWC throughout the morning
NE1 was a cold platter of mortadella boiled, egg, avocado 2 cherry toms ( sadly not home grown) and celery. 10g Montezuma’s
NE2: roast pork, cauli cheese and cabbage. Followed by a spoonful of Gk yoga with 5 raspberries - home grown!!!!
Didn’t eat all the dinner - got really bored with it 1/2 way through. I hope I’m not developing your distaste for all things lchf @ianpspurs.

Doubt you will develop full blown dislike but a day with Montezuma's plus a combination of cauli cheese and cabbage is seriously odd:banghead: That would challenge even the most hardcore devotee and roast pork in late June is every kind of wrong:arghh:

Roast pork, provided there's crackling, is fine any one of 365 days of a year, in this hacienda, although we obviously don't have it every day.

We eat roast / baked pork and other meats / fish all through the year, nothing wrong with it as it readily available all year.

Knee held up to three long walks with Cooper all hilly as it is hilly here in Worcestershire. Bit sore but did it. Cooper crashed after second walk but was then looking round for more so took him on early evening one and now in garden throwing balls to tire him out I will need good sleep tonight.
Very impressed with my libre so far it’s pretty similar results to my fingerprick samples I did to check so will just go with libre now for the two weeks. Fascinating to see all that data!
Coffee with cream and black teaall day
One meal chicken, salad, bits of cheese and hm seeded crackers and glass red wine followed by sf jelly and yoghurt now in garden with decaf coffee and small amount of 100% choc.
@Tori71 good to see you back hugs for your arm
