Big day yesterday. Struggling with everything diabetes specialist (both endo and cardiologist) said my HbA1c had come back down to 26, or 4.5 in old money. Heck I have eaten more fruit then I ever have done in the past two months, porridge for breakfast, white corn tortillas, red meat in the last month. Apparently if I loose more weight I risk kidney damage, my liver enzymes are raised still but that's probably to do with my health state. I am now anemic and apparently am not supposed to lose anymore weight. Easier said then done. OCD, anxiety, depression and other chronic health conditions suck.

Breakfast: travelling. At home 3 white coffee with unsweetened coconut milk blend. Then 2 black coffee, 50g rolled oats, 68g blueberries, 30g sunflower, pepita mix.

Snack: sugar free gum

Lunch: 24g massdam cheese, 132g champagne ham, 2 white corn tortilla, mustard, 30g raw carrot, 122g tomato, 122g cucumber.

Dinner: 195g boiled broccoli, 4 large eggs, 2 slices shortcut bacon, 20ml salsa
Sorry you're having so many issues. I really hope it sorts itself out. xxx

I’m having two glasses of dry white wine tonight as seem to have spent much of today in car in traffic jams - a three minute journey - normally - as couldn’t go over bridge - this morning took one Hour! Going onto brum ended up in car for two hours! I was wishing hadn’t started day with two cups of coffee! River Severn is at historic high - it’s an amazing force of nature just now and may well breach barriers overnight / first thing in am. Evacuations happening again! Worse the environment agency are predicting more rain-in wales and possibly yet another peak at weekend!
I feel bad complaining as my home isn’t flooded but life a bit complex at moment and my responsibilities seem harder.....caring for someone only normally a few mins away who is now one hour away is harder.
Oh well patience is needed and it’s temporary we hopE. Sleep affected by worry last night always makes things look harder good sleep tonight I’m sure .
oMAD as spent day mainly in car! Chicken and salad with dry white wine, pancake day chaffle with lemon juice and cream.

@Tipetoo - there's quite a few recent reviews on imgur saying photos are not uploading on the recent version. I'll wait and see how it develops.
I have had no problems with uploading pix either with the Chrome browser or app, that's why I recommend I them...

Thankyou for the kind thoughts. I have taken this semester off uni, I am going to do some intense work, monitor whats happening with my medical team of specialists, probably start some new meds, but I know they can affect blood sugar. My stomach is well and truly stuffed, it exploded yesterday morning and no dairy, heck I was on the loo in the middle of the night last night. arghh, still hanging in here, at least the diabetes is managed.

Bed 5.9 FBG 5.2. Ended up with the boys here until well after 6pm because a bus broke down which held up son's bus and many others. I had to rejig things because Hubby had gone off to the pub tonight (since he was off colour yesterday) so had to detour to collect him as he hadn't taken his keys. @ziggy_w - lovely to see you back again. @DJC3 - hugs for the dental trip. You have DD meals that are not on my week and I haven't changed much. @ianpspurs - how's Julie?
B. Just TAG.
L. A chicken thigh and a drumstick from yesterday's DD buffalo chicken but just the chicken.
D. With the running about due to late return of son, I ate 6 walnuts while I was making dinner. Tonight was the DD pizza omelette, half of which is for tomorrow. I have no idea what I did differently this time but it puffed up in the oven and was really light. I do like this one too. Just had the omelette.
I was toying with the idea of making souffle pancakes but, it's 8pm and I can't be bothered.
@shelley262 - that really is an ouch estimate for the dentist. I see they have revised your peak again. I do hope the barriers hold.

You'll notice a big difference in taste compared to the sweet pickle. DIL prefers them too so I usually end up getting jars of them! Ignore the bit about use by 5 days after opening. I've kept them in the fridge for weeks!

Oh yes, I never bother with sell by dates for that sort of thing. Do they really suggest just 5 days? Lol.

The white one jumped out during the test drive. On the front! But he emerged on the backside of the trailer none the worse for wear so I guess it's a good thing the trailer is to be used for the baby (and the lazy black dog) and the white one can just trot along :hilarious:

That’ll make a great picture - travelling in style with the whole family.

Breakfast: Usual cheese and mushroom omelette, bacon, tomatoes.
Lunch: Cheese and vegimite sandwiches.
Dinner: Mutton chops, veggies, brown onion gravy.

Drinks: Black coffee no sugars, water.

I was on the phone with our insurance company yesterday, got our claim for a new fridge sorted out. We are getting a brand new LG 442 Ltr top mount fridge freezer. I can only have the shelves and bottom door for my beer and drinks. It will be delivered today sometime, and they will also get rid of the old one.

A $1000.00 fridge for a $100.00 excess payment as they knocked a $100 off of the $200 excess for food spoilage. :D

I think I changed most of the meals this week for one reason or another. I’ve had the pizza omelette a couple of times and liked it - nice cold too. I liked the look of the buffalo chicken but my butcher doesn’t sell thighs. I’d have to buy a few whole chickens and get him to joint the drum sticks and thighs off but I have no room in my freezer for the rest.

Hello all,

Thanks for the welcome back @DJC3, @Goonergal and @maglil55.
Hugs for the high waters, @shelley262. Empathize with the frustration over long commutes. Hope the weather does a turn around (and proves the forecast wrong).
My admiration for the heroic attitude re trip to the dentist, @DJC3. Hope the cracklings from Amazon turn out to be a lot more tooth-friendly.
Stellar result on your HbA1c, @Quinn1066. I really believe you got this one beaten. Hugs for the other issues. Admire your attitude.
Wings look delicious, @Antje77. Have considered getting an air fryer myself, just where to put it.
Also wonderful looking pizza omelette, @maglil55.

With respect to the porkless moo grob -- what are your thoughts on duck breast, @Antje77, @DCUKMod. I thought about maybe removing half of the meat to get to a more favorable meat-fat ratio. Do you think this might work?

Today ...

Breakfast: Two double decaffeinated espressos with cream and erythritol. Half a toasted DD keto roll with butter (after 15 years, we finally invested in a new toaster).

Lunch: Half a DD keto roll with butter and breasaola. A cup of plain Greek yoghurt.

Dinner: Explore cusine edamame-mung bean fettucine with pesto alla Genovese and sea bass. A heaping tablespoon of h/m chocolate mousse.

Plenty of dry red wine after the resolution of a very heated discussion with my husband re how to proceed with the design of our apartment. Luckily, it's resolved now (--> I almost won, i.e. the kitchen moves to where he wants it.)

Evenin’ All,

interesting day.

B: lc hc
Followed by 3rd appt with physiotherapist for my R knee. Discharged with instructions to continue doing her utterly pointless exercises (consistently for 8-10 weeks) The exercises that have absolutely no benefit/relation to the bits of my leg that hurt when I arrived for my first appt.
I know this because I have researched them, their purpose, and the musculature of the leg.
Oh well, I suppose that is what happens when you give qualifications to 14 yr olds and send them out into the world with no consequences to them for their actions.
Meanwhile, I now have two knees that are equally aggravated by her exercises. I know the aggravation is due to her exercises, because it worsens when I do them, and improves when I don’t. It is deep inflammation pain under kneecaps, not healthy muscle building pain.
When I mentioned this, she smiled and said ‘oh yes, but you must keep them up. Arthritis is takes a long time to get better!
- which is a teensy bit misrepresentative, I think, don’t you?
I mean, arthritis is usually a one way trip, isn’t it? And the pain stops, sure, but only when high as a kite on painkillers, or in the grave. Or when you slowly, carefully, gently, infinitesimally rebuild cartilage, and gradually (without strain) build strength into the structures supporting the joint.
You can tell I am a little irritated, but will stop ranting now.

L: a delicious steak out in pub with Mr B. 5 chips.
He was driving, so I pushed the boat out with a very pleasant mojito (least carby option, I thought). Delish.

D: a ramekin of baked cheese and diced chorizo. Eaten with a spoon.

I now intend to cease Ms Physio’s exercises immediately, hopefully allow my knees to recover from her damage, and then start - v gently - on exercises that will actually help.

Regarding the duck moo grob...
I think the pork belly is so excellent because it is succulent alternate layers of v tender (long slow cooking) meat and fat.
Duck skin is fab in the air fryer, but the meat is dense and relatively lean.

it might work if you sliced the raw breast and layered it with skin in between.
Or simply minced the meat and duck skin together and made meat balls.
Actually, duck meatballs, air fried... oh. Gonna have to try this!

Thanks for your very helpful input, @Brunneria. (Thank you too, @Antje77).

I agree pork seems the perfect meat for moo grob. Unfortunately, I made a bargain when first diagnosed with diabetes to give up pork in exchange for getting "healthy" again. (Long story there.)

Will try the layering, though, or using layers of duck fat and chicken meat.

Same goes for @Brunneria 's duck meatballs of course, sounds very yummy!
