Hi all. Have been a bit out of sorts - dizzy with low blood pressure (two consecutive readings of 93/65) - and also very hungry. On the plus side all the weekend’s chores were complete by 1pm. s.
Sorry to hear you feel unwell. I have read that LC/Keto diet can lead to lower BP but most often occurs with people on medication which can often be lowered or withdrawn.

Thanks. It’s not dangerously low, but the dizziness is a bit worrying.

Sounds like you are getting a bit frustrated with your BG management - numbers look good though.

Hi all.
I also spent the morning cleaning @Goonergal hope you perk up soon though, you keep feeling a bit dodgy recently, is it all bp related do you think?

B: cheese and salami and coffee with cream.

L: mushroom and cheese omlette. Small glass red

Boredom eating like you @ianpspurs , this afternoon. 2 squares Montezuma, handful of almonds and a bag of pork crackling. Must be the rain I think.

D: Eurovision style cheesefest - we always have a pan European buffet type thing to watch it with, plus wine and beer. Pretty much everything low carb but this year I’ll miss out on the delicious Portugese nata.

By the way Goonergal I read in the paper that Hotel Chocolate are suing Waitrose for copying their chocolate and selling it for £2 a bar instead of £16! I wonder if it’s the new one you found in Waitrose earlier?

Not the BG management more the idea that I am making big compromises with diet purely to get them. Pretty certain as numbers aren't very special I will see this out until next tests and properly follow my heart on how to manage this condition.

Bed 6.5 FBG 6.2. Sounds OK but BGs are yo yoing up and down all day. I really don't feel too unwell so I don't get it.
B. Just coffee
L. Very late - leftover M&S tuna , red onion and beans, mozzarella pearls, roasted peppers and 2 chicken wings.
D. Slice each of roast pork, ox tongue and chicken breast. Lettuce, 3 Santini tomatoes, coronation coleslaw, waldorf salad and 2 baby beets.
Lots of water today. Been a lovely day. Relaxing with No 1 grandson. He decided he was coming to sleep over! Swimming for both of them tomorrow again but No 2 has a birthday party first at the trampoline centre so a bit of running about tomorrow.

Do you think you are being overly hard on yourself? To me, so long as I am into non-diabetic figures, that’s fine or am I just being naive?

Yes, last time I felt off bp was also low. Will get it checked out if it happens again.

I don’t think the chocolate I found was the Hotel Chocolat copy. There was some other stuff in Waitrose that looked distinctly like Hotel Chocolat stuff though - but looked way too carby for me.

Your post reminded me that I also had a bag of pork crackling.

How did your house viewings go?

Hi all. Have been a bit out of sorts - dizzy with low blood pressure (two consecutive readings of 93/65) - and also very hungry. On the plus side all the weekend’s chores were complete by 1pm. Today’s menu was:

Breakfast - cleaned flat from top to bottom by 8.45am. Felt very dizzy and hungry so had a small portion of corned beef eggy thing.

Lunch - found some of the protein bread sold in Asda that was discussed on another thread yesterday. 7.9g carb per 100g (2 slices). Made it into a bacon sandwich. 0.8mmol rise after an hour, down 0.4mmol after a further hour so all good.

Afternoon snack - made a very small chocolate olive oil cake. Came out smaller than expected - less than 1cm thick! Quantities fine in terms of texture, taste etc. Ate that with some extra thick double cream.

Dinner - brined chicken leg followed by 3 hotel chocolat 100% buttons.
I had bother with low BP but I was on medication. As my weight came down so did the BP. They halved the doses and it's fine now. I was also reminded to keep my water consumption up. I drink about 8 pints a day. Everywhere I go water goes too.

Happy Saturday everyone :)

Well with it being Saturday and Eurovision tonight I had another go at Fathead pizza. I used a little more almond flour than the recipe called for and it turned out wonderfully this time - plenty to keep me going tonight and probably tomorrow too. The other half even has some garlic and herb dip left over from his Domino's order which is surprisingly low carb so having a real treat tonight! I used sundried tomato pesto, cheddar and mozzarella cheese, Mattesson's sausage, ham, turkey, and pepperoni as toppings. Can't wait to tuck in.
Well done. Keep making Fathead dough - it will become second nature and it is very versatile. Have you seen the 24 best Fathead recipes?

I'm really hoping the new halloumi chips from Aldi are going to be low carb, I did read they have a crunchy coating though so I'll have to see when they come out as it doesn't say what the coating is made from!
What is the cooking method? It might be an easy DIY thing using that pork scratching/parmesan coating we've been discussing.

Oh shame it was too carby, I was about to head off there and clear the shelves.

Estate agent will give feedback on Monday. Don’t think I can keep up this cleaning for long though.
I'm so glad my days of house staging/viewings are over. You ended up afraid to 'live' in your own home. I know exactly what you mean about the constant cleaning. The one good thing with moving house is the clear out you have. Must admit though living in the house while building an extension was worse than moving house.

We all experience this at some point and to be honest more than once. @Goonergal is right, your figures are good. What I miss is just the ability to have simple things just 'off the shelf' like a scotch pie, or an egg sandwich , or a packet of salt and shake crisps. A while ago I just said to myself "sod it" and had 2 triangles of egg sandwich. What it did to my BGs was enough to put me off trying it again!

Water might be the issue. Keep being so busy at work I forget to drink. Have had about 3 litres today.

Thanks @maglil55. I still think the numbers are bit MEH. The diet comment is definitely not about hankering for old ways/favourites. It's about recently compromising by going OMAD and cutting back on salad and veggies to keep carbs down. I am pretty certain I will revert to a large salad every lunchtime and settle on 30-40 gms carb to accommodate enough veg to make me feel satisfied with my intake. Hopefully between the medics and changing walking routes I can up my exercise to achieve at least my current fairly modest results bg wise.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream (2 tsp) washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: Skinny Café pancakes with bacon and sugar free maple syrup followed by Greek yoghurt and raspberries.
Mid afternoon: cappuccino in Nero’s with a smuggled in dark chocolate and raspberry phd bar.
Dinner: full English, sausage, bacon, fried egg, mushroom, tomato and peas plus half a hash brown followed by Hartleys 10 cal jelly and cream.

Edit as I missed out the bacon at lunch!
