What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

@lindisfel many happy returns to Abigail and congratulations to Marjorie and yourself on the way you raised both girls. @JohnEGreen thanks for the heated throw reply. I/we have looked on Amazon but they aren't makes we know so despite reviews we don't trust them and the price makes me very suspicious plus many say they come with US plugs.

That lovely warm glow again. Plus a reminder of spring to come. The cherry blossom is the first thing to show some life in our garden in the spring. No leaves, just blossom. I don't know if it still the thing in Japan but when we were there, people travelled from miles around to see the blossoming cherry trees as they came into bloom. Cherry blossom pink is the colour I most closely associate with Japan.

Thanks @ianpspurs

Thank you @Annb

I believe they still travel from miles away to see the flowering cherry blossom trees...

I like this beach scene very much @dunelm

Longish read so may not interest some but did give me some insight as to why some GPs and DNs may be more nuanced in their support for LC and Keto, Taylor and Dodell make very relevant points - to me - none of us manage this condition in a vacuum as it were. Enjoy, comment or leave it .Offered in the spirit of the posts of @lindisfel and @JohnEGreen earlier. For many of us here there is a huge sunken cost.

Unlocking the truth about diabetes: ‘The science has been pretty awful’

Edited to correct a spelling and the less more combo.

Back in the car factory, in my team, I was the only fan of my team, not only was there blues, reds, of both big cities clubs, there was welsh, devans, and of course an obscure Cockney team to boot. So there was 'discussion ' on most days. Most of it was the usual banter and bravado. It was very rare to go further.
The pubs of my old stomping ground, were completely different and because of alcohol and the living standards, anything could cause a difference of opinion, scuffle or two, I have seen some stupidity.

Very interesting read. We all just have to do what we feel is best for us. Advice is fine, but we don't have to follow it.

A bit of warmth on a cold morning.
love it.

We were in Washington - that one in the USA, during the cherry blossom festival. It was before the pandemic. Absolutely fabulous. Lots of Japanese processions.

6.9 this morning.
It is a sunny, cloudy, freezing cold here on the peninsula, and the wind is directly from the North, did I mention wind chill factor? Feels about minus 5 on my walk.
However the front garden and the bulbs add growing very quickly despite the cold, I think it's because of the rain and the unseasonable warmth in December and first week in January..

I have discovered that Mrs L has been misleading me a merry dance. She informed me yesterday that a friend would be coming round, so after the kids and grandkids had gone, I went around fussing and tidying up. I had no idea, and I believed her utterly.
Of course, the friend didn't arrive.
He had no intention of coming!
Mrs L insisted, when asked, it was true.
I couldn't even be ***** to get annoyed.
Went to bed early.

Mrs L, for some reason has been hiding away.

The chores done, feeupup and maybe an afternoon of jigsaw, it is a beach view, with this weather it had to be a sunny scene, didn't it?

My best wishes to you all as always! Especially if you are not a deceiver!!!!!!

Interesting article. one thing it did not mention is the growing, and possibly still tentative link between the increase in consumption of LA (n-6 PUFA) - Linoleic acid (omega-6). Conversion from ALA to EPA/DHA is quite low in our bodies. I took part in some research into developmental dyspraxia a couple of decades ago. Children who were diagnosed with Developmental Dyspraxia and confirmed with an acetone breath test were given n-3 PUFA in liquid form for three months in a double blind trial and breath tests/urine sample taken each week. We got some interesting preliminary results but the plug was pulled when Oxford University couldn’t continue the funding. Anyhow, we should probably be increasing omega-3 as a supplement although the jury is still out I feel. One article that looks at supplementation and changing our diet to redress the balance, touches on the possible link between lack of n-3 PUFA rich foods/ an increase in n-6 PUFA rich foods and obesity, diabetes and inflammatory diseases is Why and How Meet n-3 PUFA Dietary Recommendations?

Well you did a good job and you didn’t get annoyed. Enjoy the beach view jigsaw. Here is a photo of a red sunset with rainbow taken at 1600 yesterday by a local photographer to give you a bit of colour.

She took Marjorie to Carlisle this am which had a good result and then came back just stopping at Cranston's.
