Morning All 6.6 happy with that. Curious Libre went above 8 for a while between 1 and 3 am but came down again for getting up. Take care everyone.
Interesting, mine seems to do the opposite it goes really low around midnight ( think there is a song somewhere in that lol ) and the early hrs 3/ and 4's then rises when ready to get up and continues to do so in the morning until food and exercise .

Whilst we are comparing, mine (Libre) goes into 3's and 4's around 3 AM then starts a slow but steady rise until 2PM peaking at 8.5-9 irrespective of if I have eaten. I know this because I fasted a couple of days with no breakfast or lunch just pills and water to see what my body actually does without any food. Exercise didn't affect overall rise either but I normally do 15k-20k steps a day anyway.

Also finger pricked hourly and compared to Libre the finger pricks are consistently 1 to 1.3 higher than Libre. Scoured the forums to find out which figure I should believe but general consensus seems to be they are all just a rough indicator including the HbA1c. NHS use the HbA1c and most on here use CGMs or finger pricks, there seems to be no definitive standard. As long as the overall trend is a downward one whichever measure then I suppose that is good.
Just have to work on getting more lower figures than scary high ones.

A very good day to all
forgot to test first thing, but I was fasting, just water (blood test later this morning) so I tested around 8:30. It was 5.9, a nice surprise for me as my numbers have been edging up recently (zero cause….). Waited in a long line for bloodwork, whipped through Costco and home before lunch. I decided to test just before eating and …5.0! What….I haven’t seen a low number like that for a long time. Nothing but water since 5 pm the night before.

should get my results, A1C, later tomorrow. I honestly expect it’s gone up, just because I haven’t been able to obtain lower readings despite my efforts.

was 44 last time (6.2%) and thinking I’m back to around 48(6.5%)…time will tell.

have a doctors appointment later this month, think I’ll ask for a c peptide and fasting insulin to see how they are changing.

Libre 6.1 Not bad but get at least 1.2 lower readings using Libre as opposed to finger but haven't been so "spikey". Also Libre is great for spotting trends. Quite an education albeit an expensive one.
Please be aware @ ChrisT2, finger prick blood glucose readings and sensor glucose readings won't always match and in fact are likely to be different.

That's because sensor glucose readings come from the interstitial fluid (ISF), a thin layer of fluid that surrounds the cells of the tissues below your skin, not from your blood.
