Hi guys, wonder if soemone can explain what happened to me yesterday.
I had my usual 2 slices of toast, one with ham and the other with just margarine and two mugs of tea. Took my Metformin after breakfast and 3 & half hrs later my BS went down to 3.7mmol.
I's not so much a case of what went wrong, but what did you do differently yesterday in that 3½ hours that you normally wouldn't have done. More exercice than usual perhaps?
Mainly due to my pancreas pains I am not able to do any exercise at the moment, even going for a walk is painfull. The day was the same as any other day, sitting in front of the PC reading and watching a little TV as well.
I had a few fake "hypos" before where I felt horrible and sweaty but my BS levels were always between 6 and 7 but nothing like what happened yesterday.
I know you have mentioned your pancreas problems before, so perhaps the problem is that your pancreas is a little hit and miss in its insulin production. If you are in pain then it is likely to be inflamed, which means the level of insulin production may be inconsistent, which would explain a sudden unexpected rise or fall in BS.
I was kind of hoping that you would not say that Dennis because it means that everytime time my pancreas decides to work I'll go through the same as I did yesterday and being on tablets there is nothing I can do about it.
Maybe I'll be lucky and the Doc will put me on one Met a day when I see him next week.
