Hi,

I'm going on holiday shortly to (hopefully!) somewhere warmer than here :)

Whats the best way to store my insulin (levemir) for travel? (I'll be carrying 10 viles in hand luggage)

I had thought of putting it in a tupperware type container with some 'freeze packs', but think this might be too cold for it...

Many thanks,

stephen

Darn that sounds perfect, but I think I've left it too late to buy online, I leave on Wednesday!

I don' think I'll be able to get to a stockist in time either...

Is there another way to keep the stuff cool? (I promise to get a 'frio' for future use!)

Hi again!

Your insulin should survive okay of you put it in a 'cool bag' type thing from marks and spencer - the kind of bags that stop stuff getting hot rather than keeping them really cold - does that make sense?! (I'm sure other supermarkets have them too). Insulin lasts quite a while when out of the fridge so assuming you're not traveling for a long time without access to a fridge then you should be fine.

Katie.

Keep them wrapped in wet newspaper if you are really stuck. You can sometimes buy the frio bags in pharmacies.
