I'm not surprised you're angry, Danny-Random!
First thing I would do, is make a list of what's been happening and when, as far as you can remember. Do that now, and include your bg levels.
Then - tomorrow morning! - phone the specialist's secretary, explain what's happening and that it's frightening you and you don't like having to go to A&E, and could they please give you the earliest possible appointment? It's an emergency. Don't shout at her, however much you feel like it -it's not her fault! (as if you would  - sorry!)
If the specialist can't help then go to your GP armed with your list of happenings and bg readings, and ask for help. Again, explain to the receptionist that you've been in and out of A&E and you need an emergency appointment. Every surgery I've ever been to has a couple of emergency slots at the end of each surgery - they just don't tell you about them.
Don't panic, keep testing. If necessary, go and sit in A&E again.
I think I might try eating more frequently with just a small amount of carbs in every meal, but I really don't know whether that would work. Someone may be along soon who can help more.
