You can't go LCHF if you're on insulin?

Actually, the assumption (of the NHS/NICE) isn't just that we want the "normal" diet. Let's not kid ourselves this is a "patient choice" issue for the NHS. The operating assumption is that we are incapable of doing anything else other than follow the "normal" (non diabetic, higher carb) diet. And that even giving us some options or information will only scare us, stress us out, and make us feel like failures. The NHS prescribes the normal diet because of an uncommunicated assumption that we diabetics are incapable of making the necessary changes in our diet. Literally not even to save our lives. :-(

Although a T2, my attitude is "Don't ASSUME, you can make an ASS of U, just don't try to make an ass of ME!"
