30 mins ago - mobile rings. Restricted number so 50/50 if I pick it up.

"Hi - is that Ian"? I reluctantly confirmed twas me now with guard up waiting on BS to follow...was the diabetic nurse from the GP checking in to see how I am and to book another zoom call for two weeks, along with a blood test in March. Told me she takes 2 hours twice a week to check in on a rotational basis with all her charges...Aims for a brief reach out once every 2 months and more often if she can for the newbies...There's also an email alias set up for Diabetics to email in which I've not used so far...

Very surprised - pleasantly I have to say. Given all the pressures the NHS is under at all levels, this is a shiny gold star and is very calming to all of us still in diagnosis aftershock...

Great news. Shame the service isn't available to all Ians

I would have been the same as you had my DN nurse phoned me. Lucky you!

Nurse's are still coming out to me here in France, I am glad to say, I have had some teleconferences with a couble of specialist doctors at my request but I end up saying everything is alright when I know its not

Sorry to hear that Peter03 - I have limited experience of French Drs but had to consult with a couple when I lived in Montpellier for a while - they were brusque to say the least..but the nurses were all fab...and seemed to be as knowledgeable as the medicins...

Hope it will all be ok
