I read somewhere a few years ago that there are babies now being born with diabetes. Can't find anything on Google about it though, but I did read it somewhere.
There are infants diagnosed with diabetes within 6 months of birth. It seems that some of these may not classic T1 but another genetic form of diabetes: neonatal diabetes. This may not always be insulin dependent
They have so far found at least 300 cases where after testing for the genetic mutation they have been able to stop insulin and use oral sulphonylurea tablets
