One Springfield, MO resident has taken legal action against a pharmaceutical company whose drug, he claims, causes diabetes.
Patrick Bills filed in court against Bristol-Myers Squibb and Schering Corporation. He accuses their antibiotic drug Tequin of greatly increasing the risk of developing diabetes.
The plaintiff states that as a result of the drug he experienced severe hypoglycaemia, which led to his hospitalisation. According to Bills, the pharm company do not warn users of damaging and dangerous side effect.
A spokesman for the firm, Tony Plohoros, was reportedly unavailable for comment. Check back for further reports on the ongoing litigation. A successful verdict could open up further potential for lawsuits against the companies.
