Pre-diabetes, also known as metabolic syndromen, is one of the greatest threats to healthcare the world over. The five key risk factors for type 2 diabetes may all increase chances of developing the condition. By isolating and making improvements in all key areas, the risk of type 2 diabetes will fall considerably.
Risks include eating polyunsaturated fats, smoking, excess alcohol consumptio, eating trans fats, fatty and sugary foods, and being overweight. A recent study by the Harvard School of Public Health indicated that these lifestyle factors may account for nine out of ten diabetes cases .
