is it possible to have these on the LCHF?
i know they are lower carb than normal potatoes, but are they low enough for the LCHF diet?!
i would like to try them out as chips, so i can have them with fish :)

also, if im out and about, and back home late etc, or at the seaside.. what is best to have from a chipshop?!
what about fish cake, sausage, fish, pie etc?

I love sweet potato, but they're actually higher in carbs than ordinary potatoes according to the Australian Calorie King website.

Sweet potato - 15.2g carbs / 100g (boiled)
Potato - 11.2g carbs /100g (boiled)

Sweet potato chips don't seem to spike my blood glucose much, while regular chips do.

You could check your blood glucose levels before, then 1 and 2 hours after you eat some.

I do that with celeriac chips, no need to parboil those tho. I also make celeriac dauphinoise with cream and butter. Don't think there are a many carbs in them.

You could try celeriac chips, I think you coat them in olive oil and cook in oven, fewer carbs than potatoes. You can also mash and roast it, just like potaotes. I've had the roasties and I prefer then to potatoes now, haven't tried the chips yet, but I don't see how they can't be nice :)

I get 18g per 100 when boiled versus normal potatoes which are 20g per 100 when boiled. Howsoever, they are both high in carbs so irrelevant really, if you are low carbing a small portion of sweet potato will swallow an entire days' allowance!! They have less impact because they are lower GI than normal spuds, ie they take longer to digest.
