Diagnosed 2012 aged 37, over 20 stone, HbA1c 97
Have had a rollercoaster ride of HbA1cs down to 45 and up to 80 again. Completely changed lifestyle and currently living on a smallholding in the West of Ireland. I've tried ketogenic, I've tried Januvia, I've tried Bydureon, I've tried ignoring it all and it doesn't go away.... Then I read Dr Bernstein.
Currently on 200mg SR Metformin and 45mg Pioglitazone taken in the evening, plus eating LCHF. Max 6g carbs breakfast, 12g lunch, 12g dinner and weigh about 16 stone. I use a Libre and feel lost when I don't have one in.
Sometimes I feel like a winner, sometimes I don't. Last HbA1c (Aug 2017) was 61, but down from 77 in January 2017.
It's just a ride...
