Hello, hope everybody is well. I have a question. My doctor told me that it's common the have issues with fluids in the Lou for a short time at the beginning of taking the drug, but stops. Well I am in it now for 3+ months, and it is getting pretty consistently bad. Seems like every few days I...

    Exhaustion

Hi JoJo, Welcome to the forum. Once you get the meds you need, and manage your diet, you will be amazed that the exhaustion will go away, and you will be energized. I too was feeling exhausted, beyone belief, it took a very short time to turn that around. Good Luck

2 months in on my diagnosis, my question is

ok, I'm gonna go through some strips, but it will help me learn whats good, and bad for ME. I'm down in the 120's every morning now, still high, but not dangerously high. I have tested twice after meals since this thread, and I was at 199, and 176 2 hours after eating. Not sure if those levels...

2 months in on my diagnosis, my question is

Thanks everyone for the reply's....I'm kinda surprised the doc didn't ask me to do the 2 after meal test, but then again, I'm not...lol. Anyways, I'm always looking at the labels, and if there isn't any labels, like tonights Turnips, and parsnips dinner with beef ribs, I've found out the...

2 months in on my diagnosis, my question is

Thanks you guys, yeah, I'm relying on both, meds, and diet to bring my levels down. My doctor told me I'm allowed 45-60g per meal, but it looks like I'm going to have to reduce the 25-35g per that I'm roughly having now. Some meals, I have less than 10, it varies a lot, but I try to watch my...

2 months in on my diagnosis, my question is

I am now on 2,000 mg a day of metformin, I started at 1,000 for 1 month. During the 1st month my metered bs levels were reading anywhere between 140, and 170 every morning before brekky. Now that I'm on the 2,000 they are reading between 130, and 150. Once it read 120. My question is, this...

Admitted to hospital they are unsure if type 1/2

Temp, I can relate, I felt the same way as you. I switched Doctor's, and they caught it fast. It takes a couple of weeks, but I promise you, if you watch your diet, and take your meds, you will feel better soon. I was at the same point, exhausted, confused, couldn't think of common words to...

diagnosed type 2, two weeks ago help

metformin will do that for a few days until ur body adjust to it. Do you remember what ur blood sugar score was when they tested you, and were u fasting? I can't imagine them not wanting you to monitor this yourself.

diagnosed type 2, two weeks ago help

yeah, it's overwhelming, just go slow, take ur time at the grocery, look at labels, and eat smart. Did you say your being visited by a nurse soon ? Do you have prescription drug insurance? She should be putting you on metformin, which is free at Meijers, if not. You need to get a meter, and...

diagnosed type 2, two weeks ago help

Hi Kerry, I also just was diagnosed with type 2, and the first thing you need to do is relax. This isn't the end of the world, but you just need to change your eating habits a little. Fruits are good, but some fruits are much higher in carbs...google carbs in bananas, carbs in grapefruit, and...

First Post, Diagnosed 4 weeks ago, type 2

Thank you everyone. I think I have had this probably for at least two years undiagnosed, as I switched Doctor's, and the new nurse that is seeing me caught it right away, as my old Doctor didn't want to do anything, based on my Indiana Healthy plan insurance. This is a insurance based on income...
