I suggest you talk to your local MP and your local newspaper. This is a shocking tale and the NHS need to be reminded of their commitment to help the country’s ill. I hope something can be done.
Yes, I know it’s very high. My 24hr rate varies between 68U/day in the summer to around 120U/day in the winter. Most of the day it’s around 2.5U/hr except for those massive peaks
Hi I have been using a Smartguard with a 780g pump with Guardian 4 sensors for about a year now. Over the last 2 months my blood sugars have massive rises between 1pm and 4pm where it goes up to 17 to 18, then very slowly goes back down to 5 or 6 but rises quickly again to over 15 from 7pm to...
I have a Medtronic 780G & use Guardian 4 sensors and often my Guardian 4 says I am low (eg 3.3) but when I do a blood test it is 6.5 so fine. I put this info into my pump but it, and the app still show the old, wrong reading.
There’s no reason for a diabetic not to eat the full fat version of moussaka - as long as you count the carbs and take the insulin, you can eat whatever you want. - a decent portion of moussaka is about 40g carbs
Enjoy every single gram
Most of the day I I average about 2 or 3 U/hr basal on my Medtronic 780g pump except for late afternoons when I need 8 U/hr from 3pm until 6pm then back to 3 U/hr.
Does anyone else have such huge jumps in Basal to stay within range?
Hi, I too have little hypo awareness so rely on my Medtronic 780g pump which stops my insulin when it recognises a lowering of my blood glucose levels. I always carry carb gels which are excellent for bringing my levels up again.

I use a medtronic 780g with Guardian 4 sensors and it is very good - it has auto delivery stop if your blood sugar drops too low and auto turn on when it reaches a safer, higher level. The tubing is fine and the pump is worn in a small zip up pouch on my belt
I use 780g pump, too but have found that while on Smartguard there is still a way to increase your basal rates if your BG has risen dangerously high and is not reducing. Go to insulin/delivery settings/basal pattern setup/options/edit and you can increade your basal rates there. It will effect...
Yes, instead of putting the sensor on the outside of your upper arm, put the sensor on the inside of your upper arm. I found the skin there is smoother and the sensor sticks more firmly
