    Karate and exercise in general

    I'm a karate instructor, and have found that it is an excellent way to keep my glucose in check. Also, now if I go high I'll do some exercise, and I found that about 30 minutes of brisk walking on my treadmill can knock off a good 4 points of my levels. Does anybody else have a similar experience?

    If you have an Android phone, OnTrack is a great little free app that helps you track your blood sugars, plus a variety of other items such as weight, hba1c, exercise, medications etc and it's really easy to use.

    MILK and Diabetes

    Have you tried Soya milk? I used it a long time before I found out I was diabetic due to a slight lactose intolerance, and there are plenty that are unsweetened. They can also have beneficial effects re cholesterol too.

    Gliclazide and Metformin

    I'm on Metformin and Gliclazide, but they had to put me on the slow release versions because of a terrible rash on my face and really bad wind, which has worked well. It sounds like maybe the Gliclazide is a bridge too far, and you need to have a review of your meds. If I had a BG of 6 on...
