OK down to 14st 3lb today when I went on the scales. Now seem to fluctuate between 14 1 and 14 4 for the last couple of months. I'll take it. Would like to put a little back on, but at least I'm not losing massively anymore!
Well, I'm back (never really went, just been working on me). Anyway my scales this morning said 14st5lb so a potential 2lb increase on the week which I'm very happy with. Another couple to put on then maintain it at that level hopefully.
@Chris24Main , @KennyA , @lovinglife , @In Response - thank you all so much for your detailed responses. I think I understand it all a little better now. I previously tried the Libre sensor for a couple of weeks, but didn't probably get as much out of it as I could of done. I might try again...
I did an experiment today with my lunch, as I am testing my BG around my meals. Yesterday I had a wholemeal bun with a slice of ham, a small amount of cheddar, two cherry tomatoes (sliced) as a sarnie, along with a small handful of lentil crisps, and a peperami (its a bit of an animal) and my...
Picking up on an old thread here after doing a search. @KennyA apologies (kinda) for tagging you directly, but your knowledge in this area is far greater than mine, but I wanted to pick up on the mention of alcohol and ask a question. I like a glass of wine or three a couple of times a week...
I'm after some ideas please for maintaining my current weight, while still being able to exercise and keeping my carbs low. According to NHS calculator I should be consuming 2600 calories a day - this is before any exercise allowance. I find that eating lo-carb also means low calorie and I am...
Just wanted to share my little bit of good news with people (actually I want to shout about it loud but a forum or two will do).
Got my latest HbA1C results this morning. I was diagnosed in Nov/Dec 2023 at 55/56 mmol. I've crashed the carbs in my diet, I've been exercising, I've lost 37lbs...
Hello folks. I'm back!
So I went missing after my check in on 16 February. Went skiing for a week and wasn't back for check in on 23rd. Came home on 24th, to find out I'd put 3lbs on :(
Not sure why I didn't post last Friday, had a lot going on, but I'd lost that 3lb plus another, so not...
I was diagnosed in November/December last year. My first reading was 55, my second 56, and I didn't get to see my DN until about 3 weeks following the second reading.
Your numbers are very low (as were mine) but I didn't wait to see the nurse. I crash dieted by dumping virtually all my carbs...
Forgive me friends for I have sinned!
Yesterday I decided that we should have a nice takeaway, what with it being Valentines night, so we had a Thai (from a place we've never tried before). My BG testing showed 4.9 before and 7.6 2hrs after starting to eat. I was so disappointed. Not just in...
My advice would be to buy a Glucose Monitor and start testing on a morning, testing before and after each meal, see what your BG is like, see what impacts you and don't eat it again. Exercise more (if possible, I don't know your circumstances). Lo-Carb is the way to go judging by the evidence...
