    Diabetes, despair and depression

Tomorrow I am meeting Dr David Cavan, the author of Reverse Your Diabetes, and all round top smart guy. I'm really looking forward to it. I am planning to discuss the emotions around diabetes, particularly depression. We all know that diabetics are something like 50% more likely to be...

What I learned at Preventing Illness 2016

their concerns are about people not getting enough fiber and people consuming the wrong fats, both of which have serious consequences. They need to find a way to educate this message to the least engaged, least knowledgeable and, frankly, least bright members of society as anything they produce...

What I learned at Preventing Illness 2016

48 is considered good, only 9% make 48, 58 is considered OK, anything above 86 is considered critical, 15% of T1s are above 86. pretty much nothing of note on improving this, personally i think we need to improve the quality of educational information for type 1, particularly for kids.

What I learned at Preventing Illness 2016

very interesting subject artificial sweeteners. the research work did a few years ago quoted in this article has been broadly dismissed as it was based on very flimsy methodologies. That doesn't mean it is not true, there just has not been enough good quality research done, My instinct and...

Thanks all for your feedback. I won't reply to all as i'm sure you don't want 10 posts from me. We need to shoot for where we can win. I very much like @kokhongw picture, high road low road. We all know low carb is the most important message, but there is also a real concern about fiber and the...

totally agree. I very much like you mountain and molehills and your blog site this is exactly right, though i would add sugar substitutes to the molehill path my view is anything that requires ongoing will power will ultimately fail

I agree with you 100%. In terms of diet I think low carb is the absolutely single most important issue in diabetic management. I am also a massive advocate in the role of sugar substitutes when used well and in moderation, as they lift the spirits, and more than anything good diet is about emotion
