    New!

Hi I was shocked that your BS results were so much lower compared to mine Mine are always in 20s and have even been over 33.3 mmol. That’s max the glucose meter is able to read. Anyhow from being diagnosed to seeing nurse I waited 2 weeks, then prescribed meds to try bring bs down. It’s one...

    A little freaking out..

When I was diagnosed diabetic my blood glucose was always above 29 mmol after eating. That’s with a no sugar low carb diet too. Doesn’t sound as your diabetic. What made you think you possibly were? I’m curious.

    Now or later

I have not told anyone as yet. My blood sugar is still far to high even on gliclazide 320mg daily so no risk as yet of a “ hypo “ So I’m my view they don’t need to know.

    Now or later

I was told you only need to bother DVLA when using insulin. I too take 240mg gliclazide daily and check my bloods before I drive.

    Time between tablets

I take x 2 Metformin 500mg with breakfast and x 2 with evening meal but I also take gliclazide 80mg x2 in am and x1 in evening and my bs is still in late twenty’s. I believe 2000mg is max dose of Metformin daily.

    Which meter should I get?

I got given a meter from my GP and I get lancets and test strips on prescription all free as diabetics get free prescriptions well in uk that is.

    ESA outcome

Next time your due to have a ESA appointment ring them about a week before and tell them you need a telephone appointment as you health makes attending in person difficult. I did that following spinal surgery. It really helped Most people are not aware you can even do this. Good luck
