Gestational diabetes - 2003
2/3 of the way through studying an open university degree in life sciences, specialist modules biology/chemistry, interested in genetic research.
Up til illness was volunteer producer at local radio station and one morning a week at a day care centre for the elderly run by age uk, New respect found for older people, many struggled to remember what they had for breakfast, but when asked quiz questions from 40 years ago, they remembered even small details of the times with amazing clarity.
Worked in hospital pharmacy as a technician since 18.
Tv - Like anything science based, especially wildlife documentaries. Sci-fi stuff, star trek, deepspace 9 etc. Movies comedy/drama/sci fi , anything with swords and shields.
Hobbies - gaming online - world of warcraft, final fantasy, guild wars, star wars Lord of the rings. Play with large world wide over 25's clan. Gardening, especially growing veggies in my back yard, would love an allotment. Knitting, cross stitch, sewing when I have time, and burdening my half assed gift attempts on friends and family lol finding/making stuff for my yorkie to wear. Playing my guitar, though I've played since age 11 I still suck, but hey I enjoy it.
Books - Raymond e fiest, Sophie kinsella, warcraft novels, I-ching book of change, Katie Flynn fantastic novellist who is crippled by ME, writes wartime novels. So many more, read everything I can get my hands on. Confessions of a gp/nurse etc series.
Exercise - when well I did the couch to 5 k running programme from nhs, ran regularly and loved it. Swimming with my daughter, walking my yorkie. Health walks.
Music - most stuff except europop. Fave band bullet for my valentine, artist lady gaga other than that I have to listen to Justin bieber/one direction or whatever dreamy boy band my girls are currently absorbed in lol
