Hello I've been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes for nine years now, I must admit I haven't always been good but for the 4 months I have been trying really hard to look after myself but for the last 6 wks I've been having pain all over my entire body. I've been to my GP and to the hospital they've done all sorts of blood test and can't find anything wrong. I'm in so much pain all the time I have to take painkillers all the time to be able to function. I'm in tears with this pain and now I'm feeling really down, this pain is just to much. Not sure I can take much more of this pain. I just the pain to go away.

Did your HCP's rule out Neuropathy , this can cause body pain as it effects the nerves throughout the body and can be a result of uncontrolled diabetes:

If it is neuropathy problems then getting to grips with your diabetes will help immensely, even if it isn't neuropathy you still need to get things under control to avoid future complications and just to feel better in yourself. There's a course specifically aimed at type 1's called DAFNE which teaches you to carb count and adjust your insulin doses accordingly, it also covers other aspects of diabetes management and is very worthwhile taking, ask your DSN about putting your name forward for the next available course.

The following is an on-line version of DAFNE which by all accounts is very good:
