It is never too late to improve control and avoid complications, some complications can even be reversed with tight control. Don't know about anyone else but definitely thought of pancreas transplant amongst many other "cures" over the years! Trying to maintain tight control until the next big treatment breakthrough is made - hopefully a real cure is not to far off!
