What stupidity to attempt next year?

So this year the target was 5 PBs in 5 races, raising money for JDRF and the local special school.

The year's almost over now and only one race left, so thoughts are turning to next year.

Any ideas for particulalry demanding/stupid/difficult/lunatic things I could try next year?

Can't be anything that would end up with a massive change to the training regime though as I'm time limited with my job and travel.

The 5 Peaks Challenge always seems to be popular amongst fund raisers, I'm sure the Admin team here recently completed the challenge.

5 peaks? I thought it was 3? Snowdon, Ben Nevis and Scafell? Where's the other 2?

Three peaks is a huge challenge... My hubby and friends just did Scafell (two peaks though in 12 hours) and boy, ... 2 out of the 3 of them could barely walk up and down the stairs for 5 days afterwards.

Needless to say, it's not a challenge for me unless they walk Snowdonia and I can get the train and meet them in the cafe up the top...

I've gota few in my sights at the moment, depending on timing.

Fancy something with a bit of a navigational challenge as well, so thinking about the River Ayr Way - run from the start to the sea, adn one run by the SFExperience, who do some navigational races in the Brecons, maybe the odd 10k here and there as well.

Not necessarily thinking about fundraising in this case though.

Is all this for real or another load of Forum Brag Board BS with no proof ?
As per my sig, this year I've been raising money for JDRF and Highfield Special School, Ely.

So far (in addition to training mileage and a few cycling TTs) I've done
1) NY Eve 2013 10km road race - not quite a PB
2) June 2014, anniversary of my diagnosis, 23 mile Fell race, PB by 6 minutes, 25th overall
3) August 1st 2014, 40 mile Ultramarathon, PB in 7hrs 52, 13th on a dodgy achilles
4) Sept 14th 2014, half marathon, PB in 1:42,

Will also be doing the NYE 10k again this year, each PB getting £50 donation from me.

Check out my site, if you really still doubt me, I'll send you links to every Garmin trace.

Looking for a slightly different challenge next year, but still around 40-50 miles distance (training for anything too long gets difficult with my work)

Amazing job when Steve Redgrave needed a team of Medical Specialists to sort out his Diabetes & Sport.
Sir Steve is a phenomenal athlete, put me next to him and I'm an also ran.

He's an elite athlete, blessed with genes and talent. Maybe also a bit of luck as well. If you have soemone who's already a proven gold medal winner, why would you not throw a bucketful of medics at keeping him well?

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic here, on a general wind up or being serious, one of the perils of reading stuff with no facial expression or tone of voice behind it.

Either way, please take a look at my virgin money giving site, I'm currenntly sat around £750 and would love to get to the £1000 mark for the new year.

Thanks, Dave

Why use the Forum as a Brag Board if you want "facial expression or tone of voice behind it".
You wanted stupidity you got it.

Oh dear, please explain
1) what you think I have done to upset you
2) why you think I am stupid
3) why you think I am bragging - should success in any form be simply ignored? My motivation this year is clearly to raise money for charity by using my ability, next year I want to have fun for my own sake.
4) why I should not seek clarification of your comments when I don't understand them

Spend less time Brag/Posting. Simple?

What on earth is going on here?

Dave, you should to find a short adventure race to do!

I did my first one last summer at it was fantastic! All said and done it was about 90km between 5-8 hours, part cycling, running, hiking, canoeing and some obstacles. You see very fit and if you know how to ride a bike you shouldn't have to train to much, i spent most of my time training to use a compass and map properly haha

Not sure if there are any in your area, but they are well worth the search!
