Started the thread just to provide an informational link really following a conversation earlier which I can't find now!
Any food made and owned and patented by ICI is not food in my book.
Quorn is not mushroom based but made from an inedible thread fungus present in soil.
I'm not saying it's bad because millions of people are eating it just fine it seems.
Not for me and there are issues for some people. Worth a read if you're interested in this product.
