Hi guys
Can anyone shed any light on the pancreas as I have suffered acute pancreatic problems in the past due to binge drinking when I was younger :-(
How ever i was told many things about this wich confuse me
In was.told the pancreas can get better in time wich it hasn't
I was also told it's un fixable
Wich is it?

Hi I cant comment for sure whether your pancreas is repairable or not, but I have had my Pancreas removed due to chronic painless Pancreatitis which appeared rapidly just over a year ago , the surgeon initially opening me up thinking he was going to find cancer , but turned out to be a dried up leathery looking excuse for a Pancreas that was not doing its job and had swollen up at the head end and blocked my bile duct, which was my only symptom. Life is fine without a pancreas , type 1 diabetic of course and on creon ( enzyme replacement for food digestion) a bit of a balancing act at times but certainly do able, am back to an active life diving hunting, swimming, skiing, and working as a fulltime firefighter.
