Walking fine line between perfect 7 mmol and hypo at 4 mmol

Hi out there- I'm type 1 for 25 yrs now-
Few year back, I did a free workshop on the Berger (?) approach to diabetes with 5 other diabetics. Was really surprised
at how much more insulin everyone was taking with their 3/4 injections a day.
I seem to be very sensitive to my insulin.
I'm on 4 inj daily, and taking 6 units of Aspart ( formerly Actrapid) , 5 units for lunch, 5 units for dinner and 16 of Insulatard at night.
If 7 mmol/l or below is the perfect blood sugar count, it really doesn't take much for me to go to a hypo at 4 mmol/l and below.
I'm of average weight but wanting to get more active coming into summer but have always been wary of lot of exercise- I'd have hypo's
then shoot up in sugars- creating a total rubber band effect which isn't helpful at all, when you're trying to be more active!
Would spend my active time stressing about hypos, then necking lucozade, eating banannas to try to bring me out of it.
Anyone else out there with similar problems?
Any advice would be much appreciated :)

Have you tried lowering your insulin dose when you know you will be exercising?

Are you using a pen which uses half units?

Some people also need to lower their basal insulin or they go hypo the following day.

I'm afraid the actual reduction is trial and error but half unit pens give you more leeway.
